By prioritizing your workload, you can focus your time and energy where they matter most.
                      
One of the most effective skills you can have in life is powerful and effective time management. If you're not managing your time well, there's no way you're going to reach your goals at work and the life outside of it. Sure, you might make some progress. But your time management will be an uphill battle if you don't take your time seriously. For people who squander and waste the precious little time they do have, they know all too well how difficult achieving even mildly difficult goals can be.

The truth is that time is the greatest equalizer in life. No matter who you are, your age, income, gender, race or religion, you have the same amount of time as the next person. Whether you're filthy rich or dirt poor, your time is the same. It's not about how much time you have. It's about how effectively you manage your time.

When you are focused on a single task then you will be able to do that work in less time and you can easily manage your time for that particular work. This rule is also known as the Pareto Principle or Law of Inequality. It was first discovered by Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto. He observed that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of people. Similarly, 20% of people held 80% of the total wealth. The 80/20 Rule is one of the most helpful of all concepts of time and life management.

Setting your priorities can be the best way to manage your time. Priorities are the level of importance given to the action that you take and how you spend your time throughout your day. It narrows down to what is important to you based on how you spend your time. 

For example, as a father, one of my priorities is to provide for my family. For this reason, I go to work on a daily basis to ensure I earn sufficient income to meet their needs. Earning an income is a top priority. However, my income can be earned in many different ways. I can earn it through an hourly wage or I can earn it by completing writing projects. I have to prioritize my time to determine which of these methods will give me the greatest return on investment.
